Smell

Smell

The nose knows!

Some people with FASD are super sensitive to smells.

Different scents can also be very calming.

Some people like gentle smells like lavender.

Or familiar smells like a favourite pet or laundry detergent.

Sometimes people like stronger smells that others might not understand, like manure on a farm.

It’s fun to experiment to see what smells help you.

Fun to try at home

Cover your eyes and see which spices smell the best.

Push whole cloves into an orange.

Fill a sachet bag with lavender.

Have you ever thought of spraying your school bag or pencil case with your favourite scent? It could be the perfume that your trusted person uses. Better ask them first.
